Feels very wierd to sleep with both eyes firmly closed and not have to check for anchor drag. Will be here for the next month or so doing maintenance jobs and waiting for favourable winds to take us up the East Malaysian coast.about 9 years  agoShow

Bittersweet as we have loved cruising here and wish to see more, exciting as we can literally see Singapore city to the north and Malaysia awaits us tomorrow. Used the Dutyfree to stock up on a few chardies and are enjoying them in the cockpit for sundowners.about 9 years  agoShow

0º 25.302' N104º 30.708' ETikiSaturday 28/03/2015 Mesenak Anchored off small reef with palm lined white sandy beach. Were soon visited by boat full of local people, a fishing family with the island English teacher and a selection of students under 11yrs come to practice and listen to native speakers - ie us :) All came aboard Tiki for a few hours to chat and explore the boat and invited us for an overnight experience on a static fishing platform with lights and a drop net system. Stormy rain squalls came in the night so unfortunately no visit this time but all great fun and memorable. about 9 years  agoShow

0º 18.492' S104º 58.854' ETikiLingga SE FRI 27/03/2015 UTC 00:30 Birthday anchorage for First Mate (me). After an amazing overnight SAIL with 24hr passage speed average 5.4kts engine only was used to exit Bangka and explore here at South Linnga to anchor in 6m mud. Closer in to shore would avoid slight NW swell at HT. Relaxing day aboard, water bright turquoise but not clear enough to snorkel and Skipper cooked a lovely dinner - gourmet mackerel steaks yum yum. about 9 years  agoShow

3º 4.56' S108º 16.038' ETikiAnchored off a tiny islet covered in coconut trees and surrounded by a reef full of crabs and giant star fish. Been here 2 days / nights with a few friendly local fishing boats waiting out some wild rainy thunderstorms and impressive lightning - one massive bolt struck the water less than 100m off the bow, we're getting used to shifting all the portable electronics to the oven! Bonus as water tanks are over-flowing but tragedy is booze cupboard is dry, skipper less than impressed. Tomorrow sail 20nm for Pulau Bukulimau . about 9 years  agoShow
